Secord's First Ever Post-Covid Prom

Lauren Flemming

April 19th, 2022

After over two long exhausting years of online school and social isolation, there is finally light at the end of the tunnel that is the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since Secord has opened its doors once again to extracurricular opportunities, hosting the first prom celebration since the beginning of this pandemic was top priority for the graduating class. As of February 2022, a group of committed senior students at Laura Secord have teamed up together to plan the end of year celebration. They have put blood, sweat and tears into fundraising for this event to ensure that all members of the graduating class can attend the enchanting dinner.

This includes the buy-in basketball game of students versus teachers, a coffeehouse bakesale and even a community car wash. Their relentless efforts managed to raise $400 towards the prom committee fund, which will be used to help make tickets as affordable and accessible as possible to every student. In the process of fundraising, senior students have also created memories that they will fondly remember for years to come.

Be sure to buy your dresses and suits soon as the enchanted forest themed prom will be taking place Wednesday, June 8th in the beautiful glass pavilion at Club Roma. The night will include a delicious Italian cuisine multi-course dinner, dancing, awards, photos and more. Tickets will be going on sale the entire month of May for $80 each in room 119.
